My son loves this book! He has already asked several times for my husband and I to read it over and over again! It's a simple and fun story with a repetitive pattern that will get your kiddos shouting along, "Run, Turkey, Run!" The story is about a Turkey that knows that Thanksgiving is coming and that he will be the main course. Turkey runs around the farm yard looking for places to hide from the farmer who wants to serve him up for a Thanksgiving feast. It is definitely a fun read for Thanksgiving!
Since my son enjoys shouting out "Run, Turkey, Run!" I decided to take the opportunity to incorporate some role playing. To help him become the Turkey in the story, we created an art project that he could wear.
I got the idea from
Family Fun and just made some minor adjustments using tape instead of glue and drawing eyes instead of using pom poms.
Here is a short video of his reenactment of the story:
I love it- he's so cute:)
